MARKETPLACE STRATEGIST: THE PRINCIPLE OF SELF CONTROL

Call it willpower, self-discipline then you are still on track. Have you ever imagined how defenseless you are when you're constrained to a set of pattern? Or when you're without rule or governance? But you know what? Your ability to control your behaviour especially when it relates with reactions and impulses will determine the pace of height you attain in life's voyage.

Inasmuch you still have that breathe of yours, you are a certified client in life's institute. If you must manage life's issues in critical moment such as this dispensation, you've got to be determined and disciplined to control and gain mastery of your thought system and time. You know what! YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR THOUGHT,HENCE IT'S YOURS TO DETERMINE WHO GOVERN IT...the external enemy can't rule until it's been given express permission by the internal enemy. So, you've got no enemies except yourself and whatever you permit grows.

In one of the wisdom literature of a wise king that ruled in his dispensation, he opined:

"A man without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken down walls".

Here's the breakdown in my context. 'Man'-implies the generic sex; 'self-control'-connotes rule, government. Hum, this is so strong that it has affected our polity as a nation 'Nigeria'. Our leaders are become defenseless and without self-control, thus corruption, incessant bombings, insecurities, outrageous power supply, poverty, hazardous fallen infrastructures and standards have crept in; all because the leaders who are supposed to serve as protective hedge to her citizenry are without governance...HE WHO CAN'T GOVERN HIMSELF CAN'T GOVERN A CITY,STATE OR NATION. And when a man becomes defenseless without a protective wall, such become vulnerable to attacks.

Check out the human body as working instance. It's when the protective tissues which are responsible to serve as the defense organs for the body against dangerous attacks become weak that external attacks penetrate and become inevitable. It's at this stage you begin to hear a person suffering from HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and other vulnerable diseases. Why? The body defense mechanism is weak and as such is prone to vulnerable attack.

Stay glued with me for a few moment as I unveil the consequential effects that stir up from lack of self control:

1. DILAPIDATION. To be dilapidated implies 'rundown', 'destroyed', 'decayed', 'shabby', 'battered'. All these happened to those who are in a dilapidated state. The city of your life - thought pattern, behaviour, purpose, passion, ideas falls into ruins because its palaces have been wrecked. See how strong the dividends of poor governance can be since the Executive Governor of Self-control who ought to be in charge has turned to an ungovernable tool. Once you become dilapidated, your character becomes questionable.

And now, the second effect "UNPROTECTED BORDER". After dilapidation comes an unprotected border that makes the walls vanished. Why the wall is vanished or becomes non-existence? It's because the first process 'dilapidation' has been initiated and created vacuum for the wall to be broken.

The wall is now vulnerable and free for invader, attackers, hoodlum to penetrate. How safe will it be during this invasion? Time will tell, but i assure you truth remains that the tendency of sustaining this 'contagious operation' is slim. At this state, we can say the enemies is now in charge thereby subjecting one to all sorts of bad foreign influences, dictatorship and colonialism. Thus, we see these operational in our nation's polity because most of the individuals we see as leaders have lost rule and control over their governing rights.

Let me drive home my point as I conclude with this thought:
"IT TAKES A LEADING MAN WHO CAN GAIN MASTERY OF THE INFLUENCE OF THEIR SELF-CONTROL WITH ABILITY TO GOVERN WITH A GOOD PROSPECT THAT IS FIT TO LEAD AND GOVERN A NATION".
