“The life of a city is rightly determined by her citizen, the citizenries make up the component that constitutes the entirety of the city”, this was my response to an argument that ensued between me and a fellow. Our political leaders never determine what become of us as a city except for the permission of us the social engineers – citizen who entrust them sole responsibility to lead us. Well, this may not be the case in our country Nigeria because not for once has the citizens been given the right to vote who they want as their leader, our political leaders over the ages have been imposed on us hence, we get cruel treatment and service from them in return when elected.
As
a nation Nigeria, we now find ourselves in a position where we cast blame on
leaders for not doing what is expedient of them simply the same set of people
who blames the government are same people who won’t go out to perform their civil
responsibilities of voting, peaceful protest and are also wicked individual who are mean to their
fellow.
The recent menace – Boko Haram, terrorism has now turn masses to a religion extremist where each one pinpoint fault with opposite religion set as the woe of the society.
But the truth in reality is this: our greatest threat as a nation is not terrorism, corruption, bad leadership, et’al even though it has caused massacre and mayhem. Greatest of the problem we have as a country is our individual self because those that perpetuate these act are people from among us, ONLY WHEN WE HAVE SANITIZED INDIVIDUAL’S THEN CAN ALL THESE EVIL ACT BEEN ERADICATED FROM US. One thing I have also noticed among us is this spiritual attitude which in essence makes us holier-than-thou where we quickly approach every ill in our society as spiritual and to some extent is uncalled for. We are spiritually passionate and full of zeal but lacks knowledge, thus we always see prayer as only a means to solve our problem without putting necessary measure of work on ground. Prayer alone is not capable of solving our problems without work, the principle still remains: WATCH AND PRAY, FAITH THAT DOESN’T SHOW ITSELF BY GOOD WORKS IS NO FAITH AT ALL – IT’S DEAD AND USELESS.

If
we truly desire to pray for our country Nigeria, it must be based on the
premise of precision, accuracy and purposeful. Lot of beating round the bush and
self-centered mechanism most fellow are engaged in all in the name of prayer
will not accompany any meaningful result. Our prayers must be precise with
details of what we desire to see take turn in our country, accurate with good
statement born out of love and service for humanity and full of the right mind,
intent. Specificity should also come to play in declaring God’s kingdom to
reign and rule in sphere of influence. One aspect of Nigeria, I mean Government
must not only be our focus point when praying for our nation cause virtually
all the sectors including YOU my great readers are ailing in the system.
The
7 mountain of influence that must be acclaimed for righteousness and justice to
reign is described as: FAMILY; Education; Government; Business; Media; Arts
& Entertainment and Religion. There is a right of authority
placed upon each individual to dominate each of these marketplace with services
that reaches to humanity and it’s each of these we turn to God in prayer that
it be acclaimed for the Master use and we become element of positive change
that brings about transformational growth. Once we can all dominate our sphere
of influence then the societal ills in our country will be a thing of the past.
Transformation
must begin from us before shouting others down, once people can see that change in our character, thought pattern, lifestyle then it become more easier to make a statement that can never be resisted in
all circles of life. It does not end in a day, an ongoing process that does not
occur in a split second but span into our lifecycle. The lifecycle of a
butterfly will help in getting bigger picture of transformation, right from
inception – egg to the larva (caterpillar) to the pupa (chrysalis) before
finally getting to the adult butterfly stage; it all follow the chain of
metamorphosis. Our mind must first be renewed and properly
adjusted to the right culture that can help in developing humanity. The effectiveness and productivity we get from transformation must
first go live in us before containing its capacity to others which in turn is
used to transform our cities, until this is done before we can outweigh the authenticity
of the result it produces.
